Technical Information PURCHASE ORDERS We require written purchase orders for all work requested of us. If you do not send us a written purchase order, we will send you an order acknowledgment via e-mail. This acknowledgment is our understanding of what you want us to do. If you don't read this document, we can't be held responsible for you getting something that is not what you intended to order. If there are any changes in your order, especially size changes, these alterations must be made in writing, and sent to us by fax, or e-mail. Template Requirements The quality of the templates we receive from you has a direct bearing on the product you receive from us. We would like to explain to you what we require. If you do not meet our parameters, we can not be responsible for a finished product that you may not find acceptable. Please write your name, phone number, job name or PO number directly on the pattern. #1- Rigid templates made of acrylic, pressed board, masonite, etc are good as long as the edges are smooth with no jagged points. The edge of the template should be as smooth as the edge of the glass you expect back... Uneven corrugated cardboard is no acceptable. #1A- If you are ordering mirror, or some other none transparent glass product, do not submit a cardboard or paper template with a shape marked on the surface. The requirements in #1 apply here. #2- Patterns made of thin, worn, or folded paper, stretchable plastic, are poor quality. Humid weather, and mishandling can distort the paper. If you insist on templates made of these materials, keep in mind that we share no responsibility if the template is not stretched, or positioned in the same manner it was when you made the original. The line we are to trace should be an ink line, not magic marker, crayon, or anything wider than 1/32". #3- Deductions, and additions to the size of the template are not acceptable. If a template is made by you, we assume that it is the exact size and shape that you want. Extra charges may be applicable. #4- Faxes of exact sized templates are never acceptable.
#5- Our plus or minus tolerances also apply to template cuts. We must be informed if the piece is to fit into some sort of framing. If it does, and there is no tolerance we must be made aware for quoting purposes #6- The perfect template would be in a DXF, or a DWG file format, but we understand that in a lot of cases this is next to impossible. Our equipment is geared to cut and edge shapes by means of a DXF file in version 12. Please also note that standard geometric shapes do not require templates. Racetrack ovals, free standing elliptical ovals, cut corners, radius corners, and many other common shapes do not require templates. If you’re not sure, call us.
TOLERANCES FOR SHAPES (because you are sending a template does not mean that our tolerances do not apply. We must be told if the piece is fitting into something. WE WOULD PREFER YOU SEND US THE FRAME THE PIECE FITS WITHIN. Up charges will apply. We will not return a template unless your order us to do so. We keep templates so that if there should be a problem with a piece delivered to you, we won't have to wait until the next time we are at your shop to pick up the template for production of a replacement piece. We keep templates for two months after the delivery of the job, and then they are disposed. STANDARD TOLERANCES FOR SIZE

Spacing of holes - The distance from any edge of glass to the nearest point on the rim of the hole is at least 1.5 times the thickness of the glass on glass that is 1/2" thick, or thinner. On glass that is greater than 1/2" in thickness, distance is two times the thickness. The maximum size of the hole must not be more than one third of the narrow dimension of the plate. In other than circular holes , any corners must have fillets, the radius of which must be equal to the thickness of the glass. Holes near corners - Holes near corners must be located so that the nearest edge of the hole is at least 6.5 times the thickness of the glass from the tip of the corner, when the corner is 90 degrees, or more. Notches and cutouts - must have fillets, the radius of which must be equal to, or greater than, the thickness of the glass. We request that all tempered pieces that may be ordered comply with the above rules. Acknowledgments of orders are e-mailed to you after we have entered your order into our system. This document is verifying what we understood what your order to be. We do make mistakes on occasion. We also find that our customers also at times make errors. Sometimes there is simply a lack of communication between our client and one of our sales consultants. Whatever, these errors suit no one's interest. They are a waste of time and materials. They delay us getting to you what you want, when you want it. Hence, please read our order acknowledgments to head off any of the above problems.
CANCELATION OF AN ORDER
Once we enter an order into our system, your order gets optimized into the very next cutting program for that thickness and type of glass. This may happen within minutes after the order has been entered. If you wish to cancel an order, and the order has not been optimized for cutting, there is no cost to you. However, if your order has been entered into a cutting program that has commenced, you will be responsible for the cost of the glass. If the piece has proceeded into fabrication, you would be responsible for any additional work we had completed to that piece, or pieces.
DELIVERY & INSPECTION
We ship our glass in box trucks specifically so that your order does not get damaged from road debris. In most cases these pieces are unwrapped---but we do tab everything. One reason that we do this is so that you are able to easily inspect the pieces you receive. If there is damage, we fast track the replacement piece so that you will receive it on our very next truck. Please return any damaged pieces immediately. Mark the damage on our delivery receipt and on the glass. Our return policy for damaged goods expires after 48 hours after delivery.
